Welcome to the Partners in Hope Website-
Partners in Hope is a Malawian non-profit organization focused on making a difference in the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Malawi. Malawi is one of the countries worst hit by the AIDS pandemic with over 14%of the adult population infected with HIV. In the larger urban centers, such as Lilongwe (the capital) over 20% are HIV+!!
Founded in 2001, PIH has become one of the most dynamic organizations offering a 'holistic approach' to HIV/AIDS.
HIV Prevention
- Action for Behaviour Change-Youth-focused HIV prevention in over 40 schools
- Wings of Hope-HIV information and prevention airs weekly on national radio (radio MBC)
HIV Testing and Counseling (HTC)
- Tiyanjane Counseling Center-free, walk-in HTC at PIH Medical Center
- Tikambe Youth Center-Youth-friendly HIV testing and counseling
- Outreach HTC-Testing and counseling in communities (12 sites)
Care and Support of People Living with HIV/AIDS-PIH Specializes in excellent treatment of HIV-related infections and in provision of the life-saving antiretroviral medications in a family-centered environment
- Dalitso Clinic-Private general clinic offering HIV/AIDS care which maximizes patient privacy in a private, fee-for-service setting
- Moyo Clinic-A free, HIV specialty clinic at PIH Medical Center
- Pilot outreach ARV clinics-Taking life-saving AIDS care (including ARVS to remote rural communities)
- Nutritional support-Malnourished patients in the Moyo Clinic receive free therapeutic food supplement as well as training in nutrition and agriculture at the Nyumba ya Chitsanzo project
- Psychosocial and Spiritual Care of patients living with HIV/AIDS and their families
